Rancho Cucamonga as well... Ive only seen one, maybe two, rigs in Rancho. One always on Victoria Ave, right by Etiwanda High. Im in the White TE with the legacy plates.

Rancho here too! :usa2: lmk if anyone wants to wrench on their rigs I'm always down to help.

I don't really see any modded rigs in my area only a black 03-05 4th gen lifted on big tires with a like a red flag/ strap dangling from the rear bumper (girl driving). I'm around Haven so if you ever see my rig parked put my windshield wipers up lol so I know it's someone from the forums

Hey all, not sure this is appropriate for this thread but since we're all SoCal'ians here, where better to ask the question. If there's a more appropriate place to post this question let me know.

So I'm wondering if there are anywhere in the local area (within an hour's drive) where there are dispersed, drive-in camping? I know Big Bear has some places on Skyline Drive trail that allow it, and I've been down to Anza-Borrego where I know it's also allowed. I was hoping to find somewhere a big closer.

have you ever been up to alabama hills? if you enjoyed anza borrego, you'll love it here. not quite as secluded as AB, since lone pine is <10 minutes away, but it is one of the most beautiful places i've camped. it's at the base of mt. whitney and is all beautiful, desert BLM landscapes. there are roads that snake all around, so pick a direction, head out as far as you want and set up camp wherever you find a flat spot. in the warmer months you'll probably want to set up camp with a large rock formation to the east so the sun doesn't blast you in the morning.

head up the 395 to lone pine and make a left on whitney portal road, which was freshly asphalted a few weeks ago. turn right on movie road (named that for all the movies that have been filmed here over the years; look it up, very interesting!) and the desert is your BLM free camping oyster!

we stayed here in august and got in around 11PM on a friday night. there were not many people around, but by 10AM the next morning there was a steady stream of people trickling in. i think it gets a little busier in winter months when the weather cools down, but you'll always be able to find a spot.
