who wants to go wheeling?

There hasn't been a solid time discussed yet for Sunday. I'm for earlier in the day before it get's oppressively hot. But early might be an issue for those that were out too late celebrating the 4th.

Anyone here do the crown king run?
 
Let's plan a run at Butcher Jones Sunday July 5th, 9:00 am. Meet up in the Butcher jones parking lot. If there are a ton of rangers, meet up just inside the OHV area to avoid the Tonto Pass issue. Bring your swimsuit and we'll try to commandeer the 5th cove. Hang out for a few hours then head back. The offroad bloody mary bar will be in full effect... Should be all wrapped up by 1 or 2.

Chime in if you're going.

Dam its 10am and i just woke up, missed the meet up. Oh well thats what happens when you spend the 4th in Prescott and dont get home until 1am.
 
I'm just rollin out of bed too...

Hope you guys made it to the 5th cove and back incident free - I have an app called My Tracks that records your trips then saves the trip as a .gpx that can be used with just about any gps. Last time we went out to the 5th cove I recorded the entire loop so if anyone wants the file, let me know and I'll send it to you.

I'll be free next Saturday to go if anyone wants to do something
 
no damage from this trip, although i found a broken alignment tab on my lca mount. it must havr broken the other night when I hit that dip and flew out of my seat.

Heh, heh... yeah, no damage and we did make it back to the 5th cove. [MENTION=100116]D Farms[/MENTION] only got tippy a couple of times. Thought he was going to do an end over end there at least once!

All in all it was pretty neat back in there. Though there weren't many folks out that early after the 4th holiday... we probably could have had the first cove all to our selves.
I'll see about getting the vids off the phone and into YouTube. I have an account but nothing in it right now.

I was just at butcher jones for the first time on Friday, not sure what cove i was at but it was a good ride. Looking at possibly going back this coming weekend. maybe Saturday. Im def always looking for a place to go. wish i would have known about this page sooner. Ill keep checking back here to see whats going on.
 
I ended up on doing a small portion of the crown king run...didn't head all the way out to crown king but did manage to find some nice fishing/camping spots behind pleasant. All in all a nice day.

I think it may be time for a suck down winch. or at least some sort of short strap I can attach before going down a hill.
 





this guy had pretty nice xj, and was very confident that he wouldn't flip on this hill
