Who’s 4Runner Inspired Your Build?

My biggest influence would have to be [MENTION=57546]4-Ripcord[/MENTION] as of now. His original build has made me want to do certain things (large emphasis on the bumper) as well as his attention to detail. His explainitions on his mods are very detailed and showing in depth pictures making it easier to complete said mods on your own. I also plan on redoing all my electrical stuff (adding a fuse box, making it look pretty) similar to his this spring when it warms up. I'd say his current build but that's already way out of my league. If my build ends up like his previous minus the supercharger, I'd be happy.

I more or less 'finished' my 4Runner build 11 years ago. Circa-2005 when my build started, my inspiration was Bob98SR5. He had a very clean '98 with tasteful upgrades (small lift, slightly larger tires, e-locker swap, sliders, satoshi grille, etc). My 4Runner aspired to be like his.
His 4Runner still looks like that today. (In the background parked next to mine):
I credit Bob for helping me build my 4Runner right the first time, without overbuilding or compromising other aspects of these great trucks.

Not sure who's runner is attached, but the WMW rack was my major inspiration also [MENTION=25058]ChildrenOfBodom[/MENTION] 's runner.

Both the way he did his build thread and the mods he chose, fascinated me.

Jeez it's been so long it would be tough for me to name them all. Back in 2006 Yotatech had some excellent vehicles and owners that really started it for me. [MENTION=7025]neliconcept[/MENTION] was one of the first, @Rock_Slide for sure as someone said with his attention to detail in projects. This was back in the day where you'd grab pictures off the net and save them in a desktop folder. It was a combination of all of those that lit the fire under me.
But just as much were the people building alongside me. [MENTION=57546]4-Ripcord[/MENTION] [MENTION=25058]ChildrenOfBodom[/MENTION] to name a couple. They've spent the time to keep everyone in the loop with their progress, and not just stopping by to dump pictures like I've done more or less with this build. That's the difference in these communities and those members, allowing everyone else to engage with builds and allow an in-depth look into what they're doing. I've been speeding along in this build and have definitely cut a corner or two in the process. It's these builds that keep it fresh in my mind that I need to round back and tighten up some areas.
I may be a forgotten old schooler on here but I'm lurking just as I was ten years ago. Wow, just realized almost 10 years on this site. Crazy. You people are crazy. Me too.

Yours is one of the rigs that gave me some ideas. It's one of the cleanest, shiniest rigs on here. You have inspired me to wash mine at least once a year. Which is pretty amazing since the last time I washed any of my rigs was never. lol
There's to many guys on here to list that give me ideas and inspire my current and future goals. Mostly, it's the guys that wheel hard, aren't afraid to break shit, and have rigs that can go anywhere you need them to. Those guys know who they are. So thanks.
All the great write-ups are a huge part of this site as well. So thanks to all of you who have taken the time to document the process. From the simplest spark plug write up to the most complex dual case, flat bellied write-ups.

Man, there's too man, but generally speaking I would say almost any Member who has "Senior Member" Status or higher it seems.
Those who have great rigs, have great write ups, great trips and take the time to give advice and accept and give complements. You know who you are....

There really are so many builds, stories and pictures that inspired me to spend more money, than what I paid for my 4runner.
I got it in my head that I wanted a 4runner to transport my drums more securely than my 1994 extended cab. Researching, I found this forum started reading, and looking at all the cool kids mods. I didn't know it yet, but I just started to chase the rabbit down the hole.
Early on I noticed builds like [MENTION=88391]NateMob[/MENTION], [MENTION=44220]BigFishAllDay[/MENTION], [MENTION=79826]absalom[/MENTION], [MENTION=65101]BrianSD_42[/MENTION], [MENTION=82154]GSPRunner[/MENTION], @hour, and later on [MENTION=124101]Chim[/MENTION] are just a few, besides several of the ones already mentioned inspired my direction. But there are people on here who don't have a build page that have equally inspired by a story, a picture, a write up, or a PM exchange.
So thanks all! This forum has been good to me, and bad for my wallet.

Not too many people in particular but just about everyone as a whole. I get inspiration from so many people for different things. The folks that do write ups and document everything well. They have helped me the most and I appreciate all that everyone does. I'd say [MENTION=67615]Dirtco[/MENTION] has given me the most inspiration though. He documents everything so well and has very similar goals for his 4runner as I do. But he is just much further along than I am.
