Hello all, I apologize in advance. Yes, this is a tire centric thread. But hopefully one of a different color.
I own a 96 4Runner. Currently set up with a very mild lift of just under 2". Current tires are Goodyear Wrangler Trailrunner AT, 265/75R16. Camburg UCAs, Bilstein 6112s. At the moment, I experience a tiny bit of rub on the pinch weld at full angle, if there is any body lean, say turning into a driveway with a lip, or in a parking lot with any drainage channels. That said, it's not devastating, and doesn't happen with alarming regularity. But still, I'd like to correct it.
I am aware of the nature of tire sizing, and how to choose a tire. tiresize.com, is an awesome resource. My current tires measure out to 31.6" according to tiresize.com. Based on the current stance of the 4Runner, and all that jazz, I am leary of going 'down' to a 265/70R16. I don't want to have huge wheel well gap.
The question: Might any expert out there know... Is there a particular make/model/brand that might be known for being smaller volume than others that have the same stamped size? Say a 265/75R16 that is known to be on the smaller size? I am looking for a something in the exact range of 31" if at all possible. That way I could split the difference between a 265/75, and a 265/70.
