The install is exceedingly simple. Simply open the lift gate all the way. Find something to brace it like a broom stick. Take one side out at a time, There are C clips holding in the pins, if I remember correctly that was the only thing holding it in, be careful not to break them as the new struts generally don't come with any hardware.
I recommend doing one at a time so you can look at the original to make sure the new one looks right and so that there's something to hold the door if it does accidentally fall, it will be very heavy to lift up.

Installed these yesterday and working as advertised. Quick and smooth lift all the way up, and no more groaning from the old ones.
