Remember the election in 2006?

Thought you might like to read the following:

A little over one year ago:
1) Consumer confidence stood at a 2 1/2 year high;
2) Regular gasoline sold for $2.19 a gallon;
3) The unemployment rate was 4.5%.
Since voting in a Democratic Congress in 2006 we have seen:
1) Consumer confidence plummet;
2) The cost of regular gasoline soar to over $4.10 a gallon;
3) Unemployment is up to 5% (a 10% increase);
4) American households have seen $2.3 trillion in equity value evaporate
(stock and mutual fund losses);
5) Americans have seen their home equity drop by $1.2 trillion dollars;
1% of American homes are in foreclosure.
7) Food prices skyrocketing over 30% in 1 year.

America voted for change in 2006, and we got it!

Remember, it is Congress that makes the laws and spends our money -not
the President. He has to work with what's handed to him.

is amazing how many people who fall into the categories above think Bush
is screwing them and Bill Clinton was the greatest President ever.

If elected, Barack Obama has already promised that he will repeal the

the categories above can't wait for it to happen.

Today on my way to lunch I passed a homeless guy with a sign the read
"Vote Obama, I need the money." I laughed.

Once in the restaurant my server had on a "Obama 08" tie, again I
laughed-just imagine the coincidence.

Suddenly, it hit me. An experiment is in order.
I asked the server, did he really believe that Obama's platform was a
good one? Yes, he did.

When the bill came I decided not to tip the server and explained to him
that I was exploring the Obama redistribution of wealth concept.

He stood there in disbelief while I told him that I was going to
redistribute his tip to someone who I deemed more in need - the homeless
guy outside. The server angrily stormed from my sight.

I went outside, gave the homeless guy $10, and told him to thank the
server inside as I've decided he could use the money more. The homeless
guy was grateful.

At the end of my rather unscientific redistribution experiment I
realized the homeless guy was grateful for the money he did not earn,
but the waiter was pretty angry that I gave away the money he did earn,
even though the actual recipient needed the money more.

I guess redistribution of wealth is an easier thing to swallow in
concept than in practical application - at least if it is your hard
earned wealth that is being redistributed.

Flawed analogy.

John McCain is looking to do much the same as Barack Obama if you wanna call either Socialist. Socialism is funny because everyone is terrified at the very word. Isn't McCain looking to give 5k tax credit for health insurance for families that don't pay income tax? I am in no way defending Obama, i believe he is also giving these breaks to those who don't pay income tax as well in his healthcare plan. According to the republican's definition of "redistributing the wealth" both are doing it in a way. Either way, i don't believe it's something to be afraid of. I'm just angry about the things that McCain lets Palin say during her rallies.

McCain used to be a good man. I used to have a lot more respect for the senator, this election has corrupted him though. Hopefully he can find his roots after this mess, cause he screwed up bad this time. There's no doubt that the man loves his country and wants to help America, I'm just not sure this is the way for him to do it.

I'm looking forward to the results as I would be proud to have either as president (just wish John chose a better VP).

I guess redistribution of wealth is an easier thing to swallow in
concept than in practical application - at least if it is your hard
earned wealth that is being redistributed.

Good thing 95% of Americans won't see an increase in their taxes.

It's too bad McCain wanted to tax our Health Benefits, that seems like redistribution to me. Too bad McCain and the other Republicans voted to spend $700 BILLION worth of redistributed tax payer dollars on bailing out Wall Street. That sounds like Socialism to me? Why did the Republicans support it? They must be Socialists!! OH NO, everybody Panic!!!

I live in a part of our country that is by and far a Democratic majority. They all hate Bush and that automatically makes Obama their pick for President. What is funny about that is how little they actually know about the man.....

it from the evil of being human to the evil of being white.

Thus Obama has become the white liberals' Christ, offering
absolution from the Sin of Being White. There is no reason
or logic behind it, no faults or flaws of his can diminish
it, no arguments Hillary cou ld make of any kind can be
effective against it. The absurdity of Hypocrisy Clothed In
Human Flesh being their Savior is all the more cause for
liberals to worship him: Credo quia absurdum, I believe it
because it is absurd.

Thank heavens that the voting majority of Americans remain
Christian and are in no desperate need of a phony savior.

His candidacy is ridiculous and should not be taken
seriously by any thinking American. Let the truth be known!

It's pretty funny that you are so much of a Republican hater! You just don't see the other side at all! At least, for me, i can laugh with both sides. You claim that you look at facts and how you research topics, but i don't see impartiality in your statements. Hell, you even got what i typed (indigent vs. indignant) wrong and did not even bother to look it up...accused me of not knowing how to spell...and went on a personal rampage like a madman...like how you're doing in this thread. Do you ever sit back and take a look at the whole picture??

Russ, try and be fair in your views...it's OK to be partial, but it will only hurt you if you are blind to the other side. Blind enthusiasm is never a good thing...and this applies to everything.
