Why did Tacos get ARBs first?

Wow, this is all old thread! But ya, I am impressed with the 4Runner. It is a trail machine in desguise. Maybe not as great angles as older gens, but way better than most (or all) other current SUVs. For whatever reason companies keep making the plastic on the front bumper extend closer and closer to the ground. Look at all the new pickups and SUVs, including the Grand Cherokee. They all make the 4Runner look pretty awesome. I am also impressed with the ATRAC. I have never used a locker so can't compare, but I have never been in a situation yet where one would have helped. I feel the ATRAC working a lot and it always gets or keeps be going. That is a substantial improvement over older gens without it. (Lance, how do you find the ATRAC works with the big [35"?] tires?) Also the added engine and breaking power make it easier to live with larger tires and added weight from armour and stuff. I can't say enough good things about the 4th gen 4Runner. And now that it is a few years since this thread started, there appears to be a decent aftermarket for the 4th gen.
