Late to the party, but I personally feel like most of the stuff on the TRDP is for looks. It's not bad looking, but a TRDP with KDSS, MT/LT suspension, armor and the other good looking parts (grille, wheels) would be nice for anyone to have.

TL;DR - some people want other components.

Silver color, liked the TEP wheels better than TRD. Wanted a real lift.

However a big reason why I never considered it? TRD Pros are the only Toyota vehicle not available for the employee discount. That made a huge difference in my case.
