There heritage is in the toliet cause there owned by TaTa. I dont know where your pulling the bad offroad from besides the disco in your offroad group and crappy defender axles, there very good offroad, you must no have used any to draw the opinion from. didnt mean to make a huge arguement.

Lets see...my brother owned a 2001 Disco II that literally crapped out after 50k miles! Our group has a Disco II. You're right, i have no experience at all.... :redbrick:

but they have one of the highest percentages of vehicles still on the road. its like 75% of all land rovers ever made are still on the road and that dates back 60 years. interesting

I meant using the vehicle personally and thats only one of there models, thats like saying Merc is bad off road by saying that my cousins SL 65 couldnt make it up that hill of mud. The G wagon is still good offroad, such as a defender or Series is.

Isn't there a whole big thing about LR3's front differential or control arms grenading due to use of weak metal?? Range Rovers (current gen) had a long history of front diff blowing every 30k miles. Oh yeah, don't worry, LR still makes the LR2 (freeloader)...and that thing is better than a CRV for sure!

i know what you mean but the statement isnt that far from the truth, there are so many series, range rover classics, defenders and early discos still on the road because they are great off road and reliable, i will admit Land rover has been slipping lately but there not the only one and i have a feeling with stricter standards on everything that we will not see a vehicle that can compare to the Land rovers and land cruisers and unimogs of 30 years ago.

LR has never had great reliability...not then, not now. Why do you think "Lucas electronics" come from? That term has been around for ages. Back then, LR did not have that many competition from competing brands...so, they stood out as the "off-roading company." Nowadays, competition has surpassed it in capability.

Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, Mercedes G-wagen, Dodge PowerWagon, Ford F150 Raptor, FJ Cruiser, 4runner trail ed., Hummer H(whichever one that has the front and rear lockers), Nissan Xterra, etc..
All of these can match or beat any LR offerings. I think that the Rubicon and G-wagen are easy to pick...these two are easily the two most capable stock trucks in the world...Rubicon being #1 IMHO. Dodge PowerWagon and Ford Raptor are very capable but kinda big for trails. The rest on the list can match LR vehicles. And all of them have better reliability record than any LR. And what is most important off-road? The ability to go far AND come back safely.

I notice that all but one of the those vehicle are the mainstream milatary vehicles. and miliatarys have to have reliability and offroad capability as a neccesity, so tell me why the sh1tty unreliable poor offroad land rover is a one of the most popular milatary vehicle and a one of the top if not the best safari vehicle?

Check again...most of the factories for LR back in the 1960-70's have now been replaced by Toyota factories in Africa. Land Cruisers have taken over for the most part....
What military currently still uses LR vehicles? Again, please refer to my picture above...LR is just so damn unreliable that it is not even under the bell-shape curve...it is so far apart from everyone else (in a bad way)!!

lets say all thats true idk if it is but lets say it is, it still disproves your opinion on reliability and you dont use a crappy offroad vehicle as a military vehicle thats just stupid, and the current military vehicle used by the british army is the wolf which is very similar to its cilivian brother.

Maybe LR cut a deal for the British army to maintain image? The bigger question is...how many FOREIGN armies use LR products??

Image isnt anything, if i was germany i wouldnt use use mercedes vehicles cause there german i would use the best vehicle for the job, military goes top of the line, image has nothing to do with it, thats just common sense. and i told you spain and netherlands and smaller countries associated with the uk use them.
