First post and I only own 1 home. Does changing your own oil(every 5-6k miles) and not keeping "record" of this risk an extended warranty repair not being covered?

Since this thread has gone off the rails, get the baby on a strict schedule. That way both mom and baby will know what to be doing at any time of the day. We did that with my son from the beginning and he was sleeping through the night after 2 months. The only time he wakes up is from a bad dream or if he’s sick or his teeth are bothering him. It’ll all work itself out. Don’t forget to do nice things for your wife. She’s probably exhausted and barely staying sane.

We're not doing too badly. I think part of the trouble might be that she insists on co-sleeping, and feeds him back to sleep anytime he stirs before either of them wake up fully. I think he might sleep through the night when we start solids, so his tummy stays fuller throughout the night.
That’s a tempting deal. That would make me have 2 houses and then I can save for my 3rd house in Montana. OP and I can be neighbors and use the same mechanic at Walmart.
But I agree with MagneticTrd. We had our son on a super strict schedule since he was born. By 10 weeks he was sleeping In his own crib in his room and throughout the night. It does suck at times not going out or coming home earlier from events to get him in bed on time. But what sucks even more is not sleeping especially since I work at 6am. It’s all temporarily. Every baby is different but I’m a big believer on having a routine for a baby if you can.

I read all of the post this morning but can't reply, how come no one ask the OP what are you doing changing oil outside of Walmart with Harbor freight tools in the middle of a road trip? This guy have money coming out of his orifices and goes to Walmart and expects a quality service? I'm sorry bro but you were asking for it, my suggestion don't stop at Walmart and buy tools at Harbor freight and get an oil change while on a road trip.:car::focus:

Yeah, it was like watching a train wreck in super slo-mo there for a while.
we're headed out on a 2500 mile road trip thru Idaho - Montana - Wyoming, next week. even though my 4Runner only has 9500 miles on it (and I had the first oil changed at 5K) - getting the 10K service done before we leave.
I try and never get oil changes on the road - and never use JiffyLube type quick places, Walmart or tire places like Goodyear or Firestone
