Why is it a bad idea to post personal information online?

Ok so on another thread there was a member that posted their personal address in a public forum. That member does not think this was a bad idea. What does everybody else think? When we post information about the mods we have done to our rigs, trail runs we plan to go on and when they are, meet up's we will be attending are some of the reasons that come to mind. I am sure there are many, many more I am missing. Let's here you thoughts.

It could be kinda like those subscription services my wife gets with makeup and panties and stuff. Except for this guy, it could be various breeds of horse or even dog poo.

That would be biological hazard, not cool and illegal on top of that.
Gay porn magazines subscription would be perfectly fine though.


Now I know how people`s vehicles get keyed.
When I see one I think what an a$$hole that person might be to piss someone off that bad.

There is no privacy anymore. People can get your information any number of legal ways. Posting it online just makes it easier for those that mean to do harm to find out about you an your family and exploit it
