Because there are roads to take us 99% of the places we need to go.

SUV's are more for utility than for off roading. Probably 1-3% of all 4runners are used for off roading. Less than that for other SUV's.

This surprises you?

considering it seems all the other body styles have long threads with lots of nice off road pics on this forum. even the 5th gen section has some decent off road pics. and yes this surprises me considering this is a 4Runner "enthusiast" forum and the 4Runner is a capable off road vehicle.

i would love to take my 4th off roading more, but i dont have anywhere nearby to take it without the cops being all over me. I do plan on driving on the beaches of obx nc this summer but thats only if i can find time to get there. trust me, i feel like i neglect the 4 wheel drive option every year.

i feel the same, i have only had it for 2 weeks but i am dying to hit the trails i used to take my old truck on. but having a new born baby puts a damper on that so i was hoping to live vicariously through some pictures online.

I take mine to Hollister about once a month to go play in the dirt...

The 120 Forums seem to have more off-road pictures/threads than T4R.org from what I have noticed...

Ok. Got it.

So you're just disappointed in the 4th gen off road pics on this forum and not asking about off roading in general.

I just go play in the mountains...went through some mud/snow yesterday. But, I'm too lazy to 1. stop and take pictures and 2. take the time to edit/upload them ;)

I've been off roading only a couple times because there's hardly anywhere to go around me, like mentioned, without the cops harassing you. But I don't have any good pics or anything

I off road mine a lot in the Arizona/California desert. There are a lot of trails here. There are trails that start right across form my house. All legal BLM trails. Every mountain range has different senery and challanges. My wife takes tons of pictures but I do not really know how or get into posting pictures. Here is a some vidieos my wife set up for me. Pictures by azjeeper1 - Photobucket I used to use my lifted Jeep Wrangler off road but my wife could not get in it easily anymore and it was agrivating her back problem. My 4runner is showing the abuse of off roading. It gets pin striped by the shrubs. My wheels look like crap from the rocks and it dustier inside and out than you could imagine. I agree most of the pictures you see off road could be done in a minivan. The problem I have is most people with newer vehicles do not want to get them dirty or scratched at all. They just like to go take a picture of what looks like off road and call it quits. My freind just bought a new Tacoma and lifted it and went off road with us last week. You waste more time with him getting out and trimming every little tree branch than it is worth. Then you hear them complain for the next month about some little scratch that would not buff out.

Says all of these threads are invalid except the second link :dunno: you seem offended that wasn't my intentions, trust me I know these things can go off road but it seems like all the pics on this forum are of 3rd gen or 5th gen Runners

I take it this was directed at my recent thread? I'm sorry my xreas can't handle a small series of speed bumps.
