why is my 4runner sooo slowww?

I've noticed loss of power over the last couple months. . A few weeks ago Ive had to replace the battery, tps and mass air flow sensor. Well ever since then my 4runner has been superrr sluggish. I feel like I'll get run over pulling into traffic. . I've cleaned throttle body and iac, changed fuel filter and ran some chevron fuel sys cleaner thru it. Its last tune up was about 18 months ago, theres no check engine light . . . Any ideas why the huge loss of power??

Was it a new MAF sensor or used? If used, pull it out and clean off the wires with MAF or carb cleaner.

I had to replace mine a while back and the rig I pulled it off was super dirty so I made sure to clean it several times before plugging it in. Also, it's best to only use DENSO or OEM replacements for the sensors, aftermarket parts don't always play nice. Hence why I put in a used one rather than an aftermarket, a brand new MAF is something stupid like $650.
 
Yes i got a used oem maf sensor and cleaned it. . The tps was a new oem part . . I also just now adjusted throttle cables which were a bit loose, but no improvement
 
have you 'unplugged' your EFI replay and fuse for 30 min?

it resets your EFI map, I've 'read' that it can help when you replace componants related making ti run good... I think it made a difference on mine, and it's free.
 
it's probably because you're missing two cylinders like the rest of us.

Clogged cat? Or muffler? I had that happen once and it was drivable, but noticeable, took a while for the po420 code to light up, but new cat and muffler and all my power was back.

I was thinking the same thing. Our Ford shop truck recently started getting sluggish and acted like it didn't want to go. Did not throw a code. Cats were blocked.
 
I'd suggest maybe looking at the plugs and wires.

Change a tire size?

Maybe try some BG44k and head to the racetrack off 127.
 
You have no CAT and no CEL? Is everything installed correctly? If it runs worse with the new/used MAF then put the old one back in to see if it makes a difference. What did you clean it with? Are you able to check "actual values" from the individual sensors? Where did you get this used MAF from, is it a known good part?

It doesn't run worse with the maf, it's runs better cause before it wouldn't even stay running. . . Fuel filter is only like 5days old. Ill have to get it scanned again maybe the cel aint coming on for some reason?
