Why is my vehicle beeping at me?

Hi,

Every once in a while, usually when I turn the key to off, but sometimes at other times, my vehicle (an SR5) will blink the turn signals and beep. I can't figure out why! I can't find a way to consistently make it do it either. Anyone know the reason?

If you don't like that feature you can ask the dealer to change it (turn it off or on).

It may be that I am pressing the button on the key fob by mistake, but I don't think so.

Check and make sure all the windows are up and all the doors are closed, too.

I tried to make my SR5 to do what you are experiencing, the only time it happens is when I hit the lock button on the key fob. But yes, turn signal lights turn on and off once, also get a horn chirp.

If you have the moonroof ....make sure it is closed down the whole way in the back.The one button up above just opens the back of the moonroof a couple of inches to vent.
The beeps if you are not using the lock on the fob are a reminder that something is not shut the whole way or something is not turned off.
