Why not a 265/85/16 tire?

I feel this would be an ideal size for a lot of people including myself. You wouldn't sacrifice the ride quality like you would with a 285/75/16 tire. Why don't tire companies make this size? I'm curious

So how would a taller but skinnier tire have worse ride quality? That would sit around 33.7" tall but only 10.5" wide as where the 285/75 would be 33" tall and 11.2 wide. IMO the taller tire would have worse ride quality than the normal 285/75.

Might as well go back to stock P-rated tires if you are looking for ride quality.

255/85/16 is already pretty close to that size and lets face it, 16's are becoming obsolete outside of the offroading world. 16"s don't cut it for bigger modern brakes and new styling "requirements".

Yes skinnier tires get better mpg and won't make your truck as sluggish. I believe the 4 cylinder base model came with 225's..

love my tall skinny tires. 235/85/16. Still get 20mpg but gain some good height. I feel wide tires only hurt the engine and mileage. Ive been looking at 255/85/16 but I think I would need some hight or trimming.
