Why replace upper control arms?

I have been looking at an icon suspension for the gx470 when the bags go. What ido t understand is the value of aftermarket ucas. Can anyone explain to me why I should shell out an extra $1300?

short answer is to get your alignment back to spec.

You don't need, or probably want, the billet UCAs (they have all heim joints that will need frequent replacement and alignments). Tubular UCAs are more like $600.

They will allow you to get a decent alignment with a lift, as well as provide more clearance for larger tires and allow extended down travel with longer shocks.
