Why does it take so long to shift into 4wheel drive??
I have always had fords and when you either pulled the lever or pushed the button to go to 4wheel drive it went right in to 4wheel drive under all cirumstances.
I have noticed on my 4 runner it sometimes takes almost a minute.
Wtf??
For example. Tonight I was going up a slightly muddy hill. It started to spin and I shifted the turn nob into 4x4 high. well it never shifted in and I spun to a stop.
Then I stopped in the middle of the hill and put it in park then it finally went to 4x4 and was fine.
The VSC kicked in all the way even in 4x4 but I think it would of stopped if i locked in the tranfer case.
So whats up with the 4x4 being slow????
