Why so many selling their V-8 LTD in Canada?

I'm new here. Hello everyone!
Sold my Subaru and I've been reading a lot on the 4th Gen.4Runner. I need leather interior. Wife is allergic to something in foam. I don't mind paying extra for gas. From what I've read, there are less H.P. in the V-8 but better torque to tow. I'm in Canada (Ontario) and I keep seeing sellers wanting to get rid of their V-8's. ???. I did read that the suspension air bag sensors on the V-8 often go defective. I wonder if the transfer case actuator issue is more prevalent in the LTD edition of the V-8. I'm looking to buy from an 03' to an 07'. Maybe these guys (or women) just don't want to pay extra for gas? Still, about 70% of the sellers on Kijiji or Auto Trader are selling their V-8's. At a much better price. Why do they have to reduce their price to get rid of them? Timing belt needs to be changed? I'm ready to pay for gasoline if that is the only issue. Doesn't look like they burn that much more than the V-6 actually.

I can't think of a reason why anyone would go out of their way to sell their v8 for a v6 other than fuel economy. Personally, I have never driven the v6 but I had a v8 and I loved it. I will trade having to spend a few extra bucks a month for the sound and power the v8 offers. That's just me though

I'm not sure, but I think that the V-8 in the U.S. has the option for rear air suspension. Did you have air at the back?

I'm not entirely sure why they are selling them friend, but the 4.7 V8 is an excellent motor with a great transmission/transfer case set up behind it. Easily one of the best 4Runner's ever produced, IMO. I only dream of having a V8 in mine. I say use the abundance of them to your advantage and pick the one you like best!

I found it the same here on the east coast, I started shopping for a 4th gen and about 90% were V8's. I have no problem paying for the extra money in gas, if i'm worried about MPG's i'll drive my VW Tdi. I bought the one I have knowing it had a faulty actuator in the transfer case, i got it fixed and am still into it for less than some where asking for theirs. Plus i want to know on the occasion that i do haul bikes/wood or anything that it has the extra torque for the job. Also when i buy used vehicles i almost always get the one that has the premium package.
