Why so many silver 4Runners?

I live on a gravel road. Wife's Subaru is white. 87 4runner is white, 2000 4runner is silver. They only came in silver, black and dark green (I think it's Imperial jade mica, officially) in that year for the highlander (sport) model. Saves me from constantly washing all 3 vehicles.

When I was shopping for a 4wd work and tow vehicle I was really hoping to find a dark green 4Runner with tan cloth. I had been looking for over a month and even described what I wanted to my Father. A few days later, there it was!!!
