Wife Is Getting Annoyed About Getting Into The Lifted Trail

My wife ripped her jeans getting into the Trail last week, she is started to get annoyed! I have the OME Medium springs and shocks, and the extra 2.5" is just enough to make it a little difficult. Anyone have suggestions? Would sliders provide a step? I am not going to do anything to lose my clearance though.

Anything you do will make you lose a bit of clearance.. sliders being the most minimal.. theres been a bunch of slider pictures being posted as of late.. just search different brands and see pictures of varying angles and see which you would like.

I'm most likely going with OPOR from metal tech this summer

sliders will provide a step. If you go with 4xinnovations you'll have the ability to put the step right where she needs it as well as tucking them up enough to reduce ground clearance reduction. Plus even loosing the tiny bit of ground clearence from the sliders is negligible because well they're meant to be "slid" on so if they were to contact an obstacle they're just doing what they're meant to do.

also you could add a one inch body lift allowing you to tuck the sliders up higher somewhat equaling out the ground clearance reduction.

I've heard some fellow 4runner members here use a step stool during the pregnancy of their wives. they just tied a rope to it so the women could reach out and pull the step stool up when they got in the vehicle. placing it in the back seat until needed to exit.

I've been looking for the exact same thing. I want a slider that will work as a step too. I think a lot of guys use their sliders as a step, but all sliders that I know of have a slight upward angle which makes it less convenient. Slee makes some step-sliders, but they're really expensive and the design is questionable. I hope someone has an answer.

May I be so bold as to suggest this?

4xinnovations allows you to choose your own upward angle or just straight out.

Have her start wearing mini skirts and call it even.

But yes, we use the sliders as a step.

:bounce::bounce:

From my research i have gathered these sliders are functional as steps as they stick out far enough..

Domello Offroad's Hybrid sliders
OPORs sliders
4xinnovations (need to get them welded to your liking)
Metal Tech 4x4 sliders
White Knuckle Offroad sliders
Bud Built sliders (i believe..)

From pictures, these brands look super tucked and not sure how well they work as steps
Shrockworks

Edit: i should come into the 5g section more.. phillyd2 and Antman are the greatest.

Unless you are going with something along the NFabs, sliders are going to be of limited help. I have the Shrockworks sliders and the wife only complains it makes the back of her pants dirty when she slides out of the truck.

I'm actually considering having some NFAb type steps added to my SW once my Stage 6 gets installed 6 weeks from now.... either that or I'm needing to toss a step stool in the truck for her to use to get in.

I don't think even N-fabs cut clearance. The frame, fuel tank, etc hang down lower. My concern with N-fabs would just be trashing them if you're into the serious off-roading type stuff.

i like the wife delete mod suggestion, and I agree that can be very expensive. I tell me wife that if she is going to complain to drive herself, I will meet her where ever it is that we are going. which prevents me from having to listen to her hip-hop music, even if it creates other problems later. lol

You need to train them to step on the slider when getting out instead of just sliding off the seat to the ground. My wife does the same when getting out and complains her pants are dirty. So I remind her now when getting out if you don't want your pants dirty. Step on the slider when exiting. They will get tired of hearing it (as we men do as they nag at us)so she listens and does what is said.

I have the toytec ultimate and nfab steps- the wife likes it and my 3 year old likes crawling up the step into his carseat. I like the look way better than running boards.

They offer no protection like sliders though. I think budbuilt bump outs are in my future. Distant future since I'm still slightly in the doghouse for the Gobi I just ordered.

Maybe you could suggest that her pants are getting too tight and she should lose some weight. On second thought.....
