Will .1 taillights swap in to a new 4runner?

I’ve got a ‘23 ORP coming soon and I want to change the tails to the older style that came on the early fifth gens. Is the wiring the same or will I have to get a bit creative? Anyone else just hate look of the newer taillights?

I don’t hate the ‘14+ taillights but I also don’t love the ‘10-‘14 taillights. I have not tried it myself, but the rear taillights have all the same functions and Toyota isn’t known for switching it up. There is a sub harness on the taillight that would have changed, but that should plug into the main harness just fine. I know people swap from ‘11-‘13 up to the ‘14+ often

I know we swapped in 2014+ taillights into a 2011 limited one time and it was plug and play. I imagine the reverse is true.

It's not true for a 2010 to 2014+ i have to get that stupid adapter

I’m planning on keeping the 14+ tails after I swap.
