Will 285/75/16 rub with limited/sport fender flares?

I can't seem to get good info / pictures on this. I am picking up 285/75/16 BFG AT KO2s tomorrow and wondering where I can be potentially rubbing?

I have the 5100 w/ TRD springs up front on 2nd perch and 5100 w/ OME 890s in the rear.

I'm worried the tires will rub the front of my bumper / flares, is this common?

Sport 5 spoke wheels.

If anyone has info / pics that would be great, thanks.

Mine rubbed the flares on the bumper. I ended up taking them off the bumper, and never rubbed again. Of course I could have picked a better paint, but of well.

How much lift do you have in the front and would a small body lift solve it or is it possible to trim it a bit? I've seen others keep the trim on and somehow fit just trying to get ideas, would rather keep mine on.

You will need to remove or cut the flare and cut that lower plastic valence sometimes. I had to do this on 285's with 3" front lift and 1.5" body lift. Its when your turn they will rub, so the lift dont help that. You also may have to space out the rims because I was getting a little rub on the stock UCA.

I have 3" in the front, and a body lift should help you. You can trim them rather than removing.

Oh yes your thread is the one I was looking for, looks really good.

Does anyone know if the 01-02 sport wheels are 4.5" BS so I don't have UCA issues? If all I have to do is trim the flare a little bit then I'll be happy.

Not all 285s are exactly the same size

Wheel width can also have an effect of the tire's shape/width/etc.

Mine did. So the flare came off the bumper. I also had some rubbing on the bumper too when stuffed. I got sick of hearing it so I cut up the bumper a bit. I have a toytec 3" lift.

I will be running 285's soon with 8" wide, 3.25" backspacing wheels. I have 2.5-3" of suspension lift. Due to the low backspacing, I'm expecting a ton of rub on my firewall when I turn. I have an aftermarket front bumper so bumper rub isn't an issue.

Does anyone have any experience with using aftermarket UCA's to push the wheels forward and away from the firewall? Ie. maxing out the stock caster adjustment and then correcting camber with the UCA adjustment?

If you have stock wheels, no spacers then they will not rub very much at all.

If you have aftermarket wheels or stock plus a spacer then it will rub and may even hit at full compression.

I think I will be able to get away with just trimming the inside of my front flare. Tires are going on tomorrow morning and I will post pics!

I have the Sonoran Steel 1.2 with spidertrax spacers running 285/75 Duratracs on stock 5 stars. There's a small section of the inside of the front bumper flare you'll need to trim. You can't even tell it's trimmed if you do it properly. Taking the flare piece off looks awful with the rest of the Limited flares on there. Aesthetics aren't a moot point just because you drive an off-road vehicle. Just trim it and call it a day.

I just had my 285/75/16 ko2's with LC80 wheels installed tonight. I have an 02 sport with a 3" toytec lift and 1.25 spidertrax spacers and the only placed they rubbed was the little fender trim piece on the front bumper. I'm going to trim it tomorrow and see if it rubs anywhere else after that.
