Will A Simple Leveling Kit/Wheel Spacers Void Warranty?

I just got my 08 4R Limited 4X4 and am planning on installing the 2" Daystar leveling kit along with the Spidertraxx Spacers, soon. My question is, will that void both my factory bumper to bumper warranty and my lifetime drivetrane that I got with it being Certified?

I cannot verify for sure but my experiences with warranties (not Toyota) and mod's have told me that they will void the warranty of the suspension components. I figure the driveshaft and its yokes would not be covered either (even though the geometric change isn't anything to really claim). Probably front axles too but Toyota would consider that wear and tear and wouldn't cover it anyways.

But it should not mess with other things under warranty (like PW, PL, Sunroof, Electrical in general, etc)

Drivetrain is only internal parts anyways (where oil goes is a good rule of thumb)

But you should just ask a Toyota technician or service writer so you can make the best decision.

If they want to be hard arses, they can say any mod voids the warranty even though it is not related.
Do it at your own risk. These cars are so reliable, chances are you won't have any warranty issues, but this is the reason why I haven't done any mods that may question any warranty claim. My car goes out of warranty in May, then I can do whatever I want.

Yeah, I'm not so much concerned with the factory warranty as I am that lifetime drivetrane warranty. I'll have to ask the question, just to be sure. Thanks.

For all aftermarket mods the car manufacturer must prove that the aftermarket add-on caused the problem. They can be hard asses about it but the burden of proof is on the manufacturer.

Well, that makes sense. I sure wouldn't think they could void an entire warranty just because of some spacers and a leveling kit.

I tend to be cautious, but I wouldn't change anything if I wasn't 110% positive it wouldn't come back and bite me in the arse...

You are protected. A manufacturer can not void your warranty unless they can prove your modification specifically caused the problem.

bpatten0416 is 100% correct. I did battle with Toyota over surging caused by the AC compressor kicking on and off, citing both the Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act and California's Lemon Law and they folded. Quickly.

It's actually a good law for a change - lol! I had larger aftermarket wheels/tires, properly sized, on a Honda some years ago then had a caliper freeze up on the front wheel. The car was under warranty but the arrogant Honda service manager tried to blame the problem on the larger wheels! I remembered reading about this law on a forum and as soon as i brought it up, basically "prove it buddy!", not an additional peep from Honda- caliper and rotor and brake pads replaced at no cost to me other than the BS! Thats why i have an independent mechanic who's a friend and i trust 100%! Good to know you're notngetting ripped off - always get avsecond opinion!

I have a number of Toyota dealerships in town to choose from and they know it, so I'm pretty sure I could use that to my advantage. I know my bro in law has spacers on his Taco and his CV boot went bad and they replaced it with no questions asked.

I've had Honda mess with me about wheels before too. They tried to say they were too big. Technically,(based on tire size calculators online) anything over 3% increase in tire diameter risks brake failure but we all see tons of lifted full size trucks with 35" tires and I have never heard of such things happening. Hell, they sell them at some dealership around me lifted already.
