will any year 3rd gen motor and tranny fit my 99?

Just bought a 99 sr5 from an auction, found out head gasket was blown, and tranny does not shift. Looking to through in a motor and tranny from another car, will any year 3rd gen fit or does it have to be a certain year only? I have an auto.

there was a 92 T4R, i believe. well, it's the classic T4R that has a 3rd gen motor in it. along with supercharger and everything. but i'm not very good with engine swapping so i'm not sure about '99 t4r. sorry

Don't quote me but I think it depends on whether you are a 2WD or a 4WD. Reason being that the tranny on both versions mount up differently because the 2WD does not have a front diff. Otherwise, I think any 3rd gen motor and tranny should bolt up as long as you get one from the same type of truck you have.
