Will I clear the upper control arm if I install landcruiser wheels?

Hi, I presently have 285/75 r16 BFG AT on stock 7X16 alloy rims with 1.25" spider trax wheel adapters (some call them spacers).
Fit is good and I am waiting for some extend-a-fenders as my tires are 2+ inches outside the fenders.

I needed the wheel adapters because the front tires were just barely touching the upper control arm.

So my question is, if I buy a set of 16X8 93-98 Landcruiser alloy wheels will they work without the spider trax adapters?

And this will fit because the back spacing is less than the factory 7x16 alloys? Is it closer to 4" BS on the LC wheels?

Besides the look, this must be one of the main reasons that the LC wheels seem to be so popular with the 4runner crowd.

Yes, that's why so many choose to run these wheels. They do look nice mounted on 3rd gens, but they also work great to clear a set of 285/75s. It's just a bonus that these wheels are a Toyota wheel.

I was able to take off the 1.25" wheel adapters as the Land Cruiser wheels have just the right amount of back spacing. I could place my finger between the tire and the upper control arm.

Thats exactly how much space I have with the Sequioa wheels...Just be careful, because it will contact the upper control arm when your suspension is at full travel

Will do. I don't plan on any off-road adventures, just city cruiser and maybe the occasional back road......

Your truck looks awesome, I have a similar setup. 2000 SR5 4x4. Downey Coilover setup in front and OME shocks and coils in rear. Manual lock kit in front and has a total of 3" lift in front and rear. I was contemplating on the running ATX Artillery 16X9 with 285/75/16 tires, however was concerned over reargearing and shift points. Does your truck noticeably feel these differences due to the larger diameter tire?

That's a good question. I notice that there is a little difference with the 33" but doesn't seem to be problematic. Regarding the shift points? Not sure if this could be hard on the transmission.
