Will I Have An UCA Problem?

Hi,

I've got a 2006 V6 Limited 4wd 4Runner w/ XREAS.

I ordered a 2.5/1.5 Daystar spacer lift.

I bought 2012 4Runner Trail Edition 17" rims.

I plan to buy 265/70/17 C Load Duratracs.

1) Does anyone know if I'll have an issue with rubbing against my UCA's? I know nothing about welding so this worries me.

2) If I were to have an issue with the UCA... if I got All-Pro 1.25 wheel spacers would that eliminate my UCA problem?

This board is a great resource and I appreciate any replies. I did try searching but didn't find too much specifically for this scenario.

Thanks in advance.

1) No you won't. 265's are the same section width as your stock tires (maybe a little wider from the tread design). Also, TE wheels have more offset. But what does that have to do with welding?

2) Yes, they'd eliminate UCA rubbing problems (which you won't have)... and cause rubbing problems elsewhere possibly.

Hope that helps.

Thanks superman3043... I was under the impression that some people cut the ends off the UCA and weld on a smaller piece so it doesn't rub.

I thought the 2012 4Runner Trail Edition wheels were 0.5" wider than the 06 Limited wheels and that may cause a problem with my UCA... I'm easily confused when it comes to offset/backspacing/ and flying planes (zstampe), obviously.

I'll gladly take some internet ribbing if it means I won't have an issue with my UCA... :thumb3:

I had that same setup before never encounter any problem with the stock UCA, you should be fine, with or without wheel spacer.

No problem. You should be fine with that set-up.

I was just giving you trouble lol. No welding required with UCA's btw. Back spacing is confusing as hell too. I'd add wheel spacers and call it a day. It'll give it that great looking aggressive stance and you won't have to worry about rubbing on your UCA's. Good luck man!

Some folks will do body mount chops to make more room for larger tires within the front wheel wells but I don't believe cutting the UCA is a common practice.

Different style/after market UCA's make proper alignment possible after lifting and suspension changes.

It's all good. I'll need luck, as with this great knowledge I have I think I'm probably going to attempt the daystar spacer install. :snacker:

Geez... I really missed the boat on that one, hey? Live and learn!
