Will I have to trim for my tire upgrade?

I'm replacing my tires soon, upgrading from 265/70r16 with 16x8" Cooper AT tires and wheels to 285/75r16 BFG KO2 with 16x8.5" aftermarket wheels (Level 8 Guardian)

I currently have 3.5" of lift in the front and 2.5" of lift in the rear. How much body/bumper trimming should I be expecting to do so I have minimal rubbing when flexing?

Lift amount doesn't really affect how much rubbing you will have when you "wheel" your truck, only on the streets. That just means you'll have to trim just as much as anyone else with 285's that wheel.

You shouldn't have to trim anything in the rear.

Depending on your wheel's spacing, you will probably need to trim the outsides of the front bumper or at the least a lot of the front bumper's inside plastic liner. Front mudflaps need to be removed and the rear of the front wheel well will need trimmed but if you're lucky the body mount won't need chopped.

Once you do the obvious remove mud flaps, maybe trim the front inner plastic fender liner...

....What I did was sprayed some colored plastidip everywhere I thought there might be some rubbing. Went driving, took if offroading, and looked for where the plastidip had rubbed off.

Funny thing I rub more once I get to the bottom of an under ground parking lot than offroading.

You shouldn't have any issues rubbing with your lift amount. You'll need to remove your front mud flaps and push the fender liner forward and that's it. Mine had no rubbing what so ever until I added spacers. Once you put on wheel spacers or a higher offset wheels it'll be a different story though. Including the BMC, which isn't that big of a deal like everyone makes it seem.

Everything is trimmed from when I have 12.5" wide 33's.

Somehow on 285/70/17 I rubbed on the total bottom corner of cladding around the front wheels. Right at the edge of the body mount. That cause the cladding to be popped out of the bolt/screw that hold it in place. Now it doesn't sit flush anymore, so that's the only place that sees some rubbing. The 255/80/17 have more room between them and the body mount than my 285/70/17 had when fully turned.

i have the fj trd beadlocks with that size tire and i am rubbing a little but, i did trim but it still rubs
