Will leaving the rear hatch open drain the battery

This may be a stupid question but this is my 1st SUV. Will leaving the rear hatch open drain my battery. I like to leave my rear hatch open while camping but don't want to drain the battery.

Not it you turn off the light. I had mine open in the garage for a week no issues.

Im not sure if anyone has mentioned this but you can turn the light off :ban:

Turn that light off and you're good.

Or stick the incorrect bulb in the socket and that light
will definitely go out. :hand: Don't ask me how I know.

Somebody will have to confirm, but the door warning light on the instrument cluster might be on whenever the rear hatch is open.

It will be on if the switch on the rear latch operates. But that bulb is a lot lower watts than the rear dome light.
