Will someone please tell me what an Icelink is?!

Ok, im hooking my ipod up through the stereo. I have a pioneer deh3600. Pioneer makes an adapter for the cd changer port where I can then hook my ipod up to, but I was hearing about this icelink doing the same thing but w/ better sound quality. Can anyone clear this up for me? Thanks A LOT!

Where/How much will I be looking at for an icelink?

I would use a CD-IB100 Pioneer Ipod interface. It comes out in March 05 and should sell for around 80-90$ U.S. This will charge the IPOD, show the tracks and artist on your DEHP3600 and be a direct interface (through the IP-Bus cable on the back of the DEHP3600). It's like the CD-RB10 but is designed for the IPOD exclusively.

When you say interface, what does that mean? How does it hook up? Any info on this would be GREAT!
Also, how does the iPOD hook up to that? What cord? And it will display the text on the headunit? Can I chang the song on the headunit as well? thanks A LOT in advance!

The CD-IB100 IPOD interface plugs into the back of your DEH-P3600 (a blue square plug that looks like a data bus input). On the other end is a plug that fits directly into your IPOD. The CD-IB100 charges your IPOD at the same time. You can pick songs from the display of your DEH-P3600. This means you could install your IPOD in the glove box or center console and keep it completely hidden from view.

But I can still control it from the iPod correct? What wire goes from the IB100----> iPod? What if I wanna switch artists from the headunit? Thanks!

Sorry, i haven't received my sample yet so I'm not 100% on operations just yet. However, I don't believe you can control it from the IPOD, all of your selections will come from the Pioneer deck you are using. Artist, album, song etc... The CD-IB100 is Apple on one end and Pioneer P-bus on the other.

Oh wow, so that actually wouldnt be good if you have like 2k songs? Well since im not worried about text display and stuff, would the rb10 adapter be good? (I posted it eariler in this thread). Hows that sound quality w/ that? Thanks!!

Sound quality would be exactly the same with the CD-RB10. they both access the DEHP3600 in exactly the same way.
