Will this adapter work?

I know there have been many Ipod integration threads, but I haven't been able to get a straightforward answer regarding the compatibility of this adapter:

with my 4R. I have a 2004 SR5 with the base radio, i.e. no CD changer, no steering wheel controls, not JBL, etc. Is there still a spot to plug this into the rear of the headunit?

I'm basically settled on this adapter if it'll work properly. Also, I contacted the seller on ebay yesterday with the same question but haven't heard back yet.

Thanks!

I don't think I've ever heard of a 4runner with just a radio. You may have to pull it out to see if there is an extra plug behind.

I dont think that plug will work take the radio out first because if I remember correctly the 2003-2005 stock Head Unit does not have an AUX plug, I think they started putting them in the 2006 and above because I have a 2005 and it didnt have the plug, one way you can tell is if you have a AUX button on the front of the radio. If you dont just take the radio out and check its not as hard as it looks.

I suppose I'll find out, I ended up ordering it. I'll post results here once it arrives.

For anyone that is interested, the adapter I posted is compatible. Install was extremely easy, it uses the open plug on the back of the headunit that a 6 disc changer plugs into. It does not use an aux plug, it actually connects to the bottom of the ipod (charges while it plays, no feedback noise from using the 3.5 jack, etc.). My headunit does not have the "aux" source option, I just have to press "CD" twice, then I directly control the ipod.
