Hey so as with every other t4r.. eventually. the teeth on my antenna bit it and it just stays stuck up while the motors pumps. Can i just attach this antenna and huck the stock chrome telescoping one?? This one only measures 13" and is $9 (reception?.. i have stock headunit for the next month or so). can i just unscrew and pop off the old one and screw this bad boy in? thanks!

* i know the motor will still go but i will be disconnecting it in the near neaaaar future.

At the time being i dont want to do the taco whip mod so i am looking for an alternative :reddance:

that antenna if i'm not mistaken screws into a base. unless you get the base to go with it, i don't think its going to work the way you think it will.

The point of the taco whip mod is to change from a telescoping antenna base to one with a screw-in antenna base.

So no, the only way to get a different antenna is the taco whip mod.

Theres always another way to do things....
The little stubby guy beside my Firestik is my am/fm antenna. Works just as well as the original. I couldn't justify spending 60 something $ on an antenna since I rarely listen to the radio anyways.
