Will this work?

Hi all. I have an opportunity to buy a JBL 6-Disc changer/tape deck from an O5 Camry XLE. Model number is 86120-AA180. Does anyone know if this will fit the 4Runner. My JBL radio is the same shape, and appears to be the same size as the one in the camry/sienna/etc. I also am curious if it has green or orange backlights.....I appreciate all help.

It'll work but it won't fit. OEMValue.com has specifically stated that this unit will only fit on the Camry.

See, I have the JBL single disc you show in that thread as my standard unit. That is what came with my 05 4runner. I don't have the radio unit that most others have (the 6 disc that is pictured in the 4runner). So, will that make it easier to fit the unit? Or more difficult? I read your thread, and I guess I am just unclear on that point. This camry head unit is ideal as it supports satellite input. Please, keep the replies coming.

What I'm saying is that since it is an 86120-XXXXX part number, it will probably fit in the hole behind the dash, but it is questionable if the trim pieces will fit on top of it as tightly as it did with the factory unit.

What happened to me was that I also had the single disc JBL unit and I bought a Sienna JBL 6 disc thinking it would fit. Well it fit in the space in the dash, all the connections mated up correctly and it functioned fine BUT the trim pieces wouldn't fit on top of it 100%. If I went through the trouble of modifying (Shaving or sanding some of the trim pieces), it would have probably fit because it wasn't off TOO much. I personally didn't want to go through that hassle.

Good luck.
