Will Toyota Replace My Head Gasket?

I have a 1990 4Runner with a blown head gasket. I was just on another Toyota forum doing some research, and I read that because the head gaskets are so faulty on these later models, that Toyota will replace it for free once in the vehicle's lifetime. Does anyone on here have any experience with this, or know if this is true, or just some rumor floating around the forums? The girl at the dealership couldn't give the correct information when I called with my VIN # to have her look up my vehicle history (shocker). Obviously I'd like to find out if this is true and save myself a lot of stress and money, or just wishful thinking.

There was a recall look up Toyota recall by vin on google it'll take you to a page and tell you if it applies to your truck

When I called to see if the work had been done on my son's 92, I called Toyota's customer service 800 number from their website. I asked if the V06 Campaign had ever been performed on the vehicle, and after providing the VIN found out the head gasket replacement had been done. They provided the name of the dealership and I called the dealership to confirm this.
Best of luck,
Jim S

It's a Special Service Campaign, V06. Not a recall.
It expired several years ago, but you may find a dealer that will work with you.
