Winch recommendations(Shrockworks + OME lift)

Im looking for a winch. Ill be in the states in 2 weeks and will head down to Seattle somewhere.
I was leaning towards the Mile Marker hydraulic series. Not sure why.
I dont wheel very often but live very remote where 911 doesnt exist
(Dawson City YT) most of the year.

I have had a Shrockworks bumper for a while and have the OME lift.
Its a 2004 SR5.
I would like to know if anyone has a hydraulic winch or can recommend me
something else that works well.

I have had good luck with the MileMarkers they put on our military vehicles. Somepeople don't like the idea of the hydraulic winches and the ones that do recommend an upgraded Power steering pump. I will be adding a good electric winch to the front of mine fairly soon. Just remember rule of thumb is minimum 1.5 times your vehicle weight. Example vehicle weight is 5k then minimum winch size 8k. However a lot of us prefer the 2:1 ratio since of 5k vehicle 9500 or 10k winch. The max rating is based on a full line pull or only having one wrap left on the drum. each wrap on the drum decreases the winches pulling power.

hi, ive been off roading for 10 yrs. now and i have only used my winch about 5or6 times & for self recovery its not all that great!!!!! i woud recomend to somebody ...#1 a high lift jack(48")#2tow strap#3 a come -a -long (highest rating) its all about moving the rig to get better traction!!!!!!
