Window gets stuck.

Hey all,

I have a on 06 t4r limited, the driver side window gets stuck when rolling down at about 3/4's of the way down. The best part is when it is down 3/4's, you can only open the door about 10 inches. If I roll the window up the door opens just fine. I have not taken the door panel off as I am mechanically handicapped, but can do some little things. Has anyone else had this issue? If you have, how did you fix it?

I haven't seen this issue very often, but I have seen it enough to make note of it.

Check the little plastic covered metal strut that holds the door open. Its between the hinges and has notches on it so when you open the door all the way it doesn't randomly swing closed.

I have seen this start to degrade/fail and impede the movement of the window and door. Often you can either grind it a little for clearance, I would just replace it, the plastic gets worn and rod gets loose and tends to do this.

Take the inner door panel off and move the window just before it gets stuck and then open the door 10inches, you'll see where the glass is hitting the little strut.

Did you replace (or have someone else replace for you) the door speakers or have any other work done inside the door? Was the truck in any type of crash recently?

BlackWorks.... you posted before I finished writing my reply.

That seems like the most reasonable cause for his problem.

Thank you guys for the answer.
