It seems like there's an excessive amount of grit or dirt in the "well" that the windows roll down into. After I clean them (and let them dry) if I roll the window down and put it back up there are streaks and a gritty almost grinding noise. Any suggestions on remedying this? Is it a total pita to access behind the door? Thanks.

I was looking for some more information on this so I know what I will get myself into on this. I think my window runs got slammed by the Carolina sand at my last station and could use a good cleaning. Are these runs greased or lubed in any way and if so should I strip the old stuff and apply new? I know there is a whitish color grease on my moon roof. What's it called?
