Window seals

Hi all, so some of you may know that last month my car was stolen from me. Luckily I found my truck, mostly in one piece. Long story short I have decided to rebuild my truck, and in that process I need to find new window seals, and weather strips. Honestly, I believe that i have looked deeply in the internet for this stuff and haven't had any real luck. I have seen many builds on here and I would assume people are buying new replacement seals and weather strips. Any leads guys?

Well, whatd'ya know!?!?!?! I actually found them on Amazon of all places!

Used Toyota Parts Catalog to find the part numbers, then just googled it to see who had the best price and availability!

I also used Toyota Parts Deal just to double-check the part against the other site, hopefully it is the correct part when it shows up next week Wednesday!

Thanks for gettin' me off my ass to research this part again. It wasn't available a few years ago, so I'm just wondering if there was a lot of p/n lookups of this part at Toyota that they decided to put it back into production?

I'll post pics once its in and installed!

Can you give us a link? And what year is this for?

Which seals and which year? I ordered a new outer door glass seal from the dealer for my '88 and while looking up part numbers by searching "weatherstrip" on various sites(I used camelbacktoyota), it lists pretty much all seals that are still available. Most of them are reasonably priced. Ebay and Amazon have some stuff too, marked up prices to include "free shipping", you just have to be careful selecting the correct outer door window seals on the 1st gens because of the vent options.

You'll have to look up the correct one for your 4runner, as the one I bought was for an '87 xtra cab with the pocket window.

If you use the two websites I posted, you should be able to figure out which one is for your exact model, the second link uses your vin to determine the exact build of your 4runner, and that should be the one you go with. Use the first link just as a double-check to make sure its the same one, that site you'll need to get the build date of your runner from the driver's door tag.

I ordered them through amazon just for the free shipping and their no-hassle return feature as a prime member. It was slightly cheaper on several other sites (found while googling the part numbers), but I figured with shipping and not being 100% confident that they will be correct parts for my model, it was worth the 4 extra dollars, knowing I can just click on return products and put down incorrect part!
 
And, as promised, some photos of the weather strips that arrived at 7PM this evening via UPS!

Installation was as simple as expected, just line the three plastic clips up with the three slots in the door and snap 'em in! Last pic shows how they line up just before pushing them down into place.

Haven't had window seals in close to 4 or 5 years now, and they were already shot back then! One more thing to check off the list!

So, I'm pretty sure if you have a 1st gen 4runner, and your doors have the pocket window, this part number will fit them too. If you have the non-pocket window style, you'll need to look at the other part numbers in those pages I linked to, or do as Bad Vision said, just call the dealership! These were genuine toyota parts, and do not look like they've been on a shelf for much more than a few months, so I'm betting that they have 'em somewhere!
