Same thing happened to me 6 years ago. My handgun, digital camera and other small valuables were stolen from my car in my driveway. (I know I know, I learned my lesson...) anyways, I got a call a couple months ago from my local PD (i'm in NC) saying that my handgun had been recovered by the Irving, TX PD and pending any cases it's involved in, it will be returned to me in the near future. I never filed a claim, so keep the hope alive!! I know between losing a valuable and peace of mind you're bummed out, but it is what it is, learn from it and move on... No flaming from me.

unless you have a lift kit for your seat im pretty sure thats not gonna fit there...

I cut a section out of the floor support under the front of the seat (under the carpet). It fits fine under the seat and is pretty well hidden.

I've had another one I bought about 15 years ago which is longer. I've had it in 5 different trucks (3 2nd gens, a 2003 Tacoma, and a 98 runner). The Fort Knox (in the link) will just hold a full-sized XD.

You need one of these. Mount under the driver's seat. 10 ga steel. Bolt it to the floor, bolt through the floor support, and use carriage bolts and fender washers (round heads on the bottom). They'll need a huge crowbar to pry it loose (probably have to remove the seat to get enough leverage) and a torch to open it. Then they'll take your whole truck!

Now thats what I' talking about!! I'll have to check into the fabrication (removal of the floor support) to see if it's worth the modification, but so far this is the best option yet for what I want! :thanks:

Wow! thanks for the visual! not sure that i'm ready to do such a removal job on a vehicle i've had for less than a year lol
