Window Tint

I was wondering if anyone has had the two front side windows with 3M Brand 20 tint. I was told it's a close match to the factory tint but here in CT it's illegal. Any thoughts?

PS. The price I was quoted is $60.00 for both out the door.

sounds about right, price wise. You'll have to make the call as to the legality of the tint though. You have to decide if cops in your area are tough on the rule, or let it slide.

edit: It should look good. I'm getting my windows taken down to 5% and having my fronts done at 20%

Thanks for the reply, I certainly appreciate it. The cops in the town that I live in are pretty decent and I know a good amount of them. I wouldn't worry about them in this town, maybe other towns though. The worse case is that I have to take it off, other then a waste of money, it's no major problem from what I've been told. I think I'm going to get it done Friday afternoon. If I can figure out how to post pictures, I will add the picture to this thread. Thanks again for your input.

I am not sure which brand of tint I have on mine but they matched the ront two windows to the other windows perfectly.

Thanks. Just ask around to some of your friends that have tinted windows and I am sure they will know of a reliable place. another idea would be to call a BMW or mercedes dealership to find out where they have their windows tinted.

Well, I did it, had the windows tinted this afternoon. I think that it looks good. As long as the rain holds off for a bit Saturday morning I will give it a bath and post some pictures.

Just make sure not to roll the windows down for about 3 days. When I have had my windows tinted I usually put tape ofver the window controls so I don't do it by mistake. I can't wait to see the pics.

The company that did the windows said that due to the crappy weather we are having, I should not roll them down for 5 to 7 days. Thanks for the helpful hint about the tape, that's a great idea in case the wie takes it on me.
I just checked the weather and we are getting a little break from the rain so I can wash it in the morning and post the pictures.
Thank you so much for your input.

One other tip is to leave you sunroof open, if you have one and if the weather cooperates. That will have circulate the air through the cabin.

I hope this picture comes out alright. The truck isn't very clean because of the rotten weather.

Thanks for the compliment Momo.
I've only had the truck since 2/7/04 so I haven't been able to do much to it. I did the tinting and put in a XM system. Next on my "to do" list is get me a Porter Cable polish and everything I need from Griot's (sp?) and make it shine. There is only one or two things I'd like to do after that and it's OEM fog lights and maybe a grill gaurd.
