windows 10 and galaxy s4

so I made a mistake and updated to windows 10. It wasn't until after the grace period when I had time to try to post some pics of my T4R in the snow. I cant get the old S4 to communicate with windows 1o and load pics. Ive been on you tube, looked at instructions, even went into the Verizon store to have a guy tweek with the phone and say .....that should do it...but then of course wanted to sell me a new phone.
anyway windows 10 still cant find the pics on my phone

anyone have a galaxy s4 that they have successfully had luck getting pics from phone to windows 10

if so...tell me how

so I can post pics of my T4R in deep snow

P.S...I live remote and only get internet about 3 hours a day max, produce our own electricity so I might not respond to any answers or try any tips right away

My wife upgraded her laptop to Win 10 and was having trouble getting the computer to recognize her Galaxy S4. Turned out to be the cable; she was using a different one instead of the one that came with the phone. She started using the original cable and it works fine now. Check your cable.

Did you try using a different USB port on the computer? Sometimes the ports are wired differently to the motherboard. A direct connect to the motherboard works better than one that's indirectly wired.

You also may want to reload the Samsung drivers again. They may have updated them for Win10???

Why would you go back to 8? That was one of Windows worst mistakes. 7 was good, 10 isn't terrible, better than 8. I'd say 7 is the best "modern" OS.

I guess it really depends on what you use your PC for, I game a lot so 8 was garbage. 10 works fine for what it is.
 
Get a secondary micro SD card and put in the SD card slot, put photos on card. Next get a converter they make USB styles and SD style. Plug that into the computer and migrate that way. It's the same way I migrate photo and video from my GoPro to avoid any hassle. Plus it has a hast transfer rate.

That is similar to one of the converters that I have. Works great and will save the hassle of having to change OS hardware and or settings.
 
Have you enabled USB Debugging? Some computers require different settings to access pics/videos. When working correctly you should be able to access your phone like a memory stick.

Verizon USB Debugging


Option B is Dropbox. Load dropbox on your phone and PC. Sync the account. Be sure your laptop has the shared folder. On your phone, copy pics to a folder on Dropbox. Your laptop will start to download the pics into the shared folder. Then copy/paste out of shared folder onto the normal desktop.

this seems to have helped big time
after it debugged, then it uploaded a verison Samsung driver

so we will see if this picture sends

now to resize......that will be another time.....got to get back to work

at least now the computer and the phone are "talking"
