Windows fogging up

The other day, my windows started fogging up but the heater was still pumping out a lot of heat. I didn't do anything different. It was all of a sudden. Anyone have anything similar happen?

Welcome aboard! Instead of using the heater, the a/c works faster.

You might also have a look to see whether your recirculation air button was switched on...if so then switch it to outside air (which tends to be a bit dryer). That used to work a treat on my 3rd Gen but i haven't had cause to try it out in the 4th Gen yet.

Whenever you get a chance, use Rain-X anti-fog wipes or solution and do your interior windows.

-Identify source of excessive moisture...did you take a shower and hop in the truck?
-Fresh Air Mode
-Turn on the A/C

Not to get off topic but my 4Runner has this awful musty smell when I route warm air through the console vents. I've been to the dealership for it twice- the first time they just replaced the cabin filter, the second time they supposedly ran some ozone machine through the HVAC system for a couple of hours, but it always comes back.

My question is, anyone know where could I introduce Jeff's Damprid packets to the HVAC ducting?

Replace your cabin filter. (if so equiped)

Put one or two sheets of bounce along with your cabin air filter. Hope it works.

Heater core?

Is it all the windows or just the windshield/front of side windows?
Is the fog plain water or is it a little oily and/or sweet smelling?

A very small leak in the heater core could be leaking antifreeze and causing the windows to fog.

Another possibility (not specific to a 4Runner...and may not even apply to a 4Runner) is a blocked drain which is allowing water to accumulate in the vents and the heater then vaporizes it.
