windshield problem

just wondering but has anyone had a problem with using aftermarket wipers on their 4runner? i replaced my oems with anco wipers and the studder across the windshield so it's very annoying. i think i may have stripped off the hydrophobic coating so the wiper doesnt glide across. i'm probably gonna get the piaa super silicone wipers, but was curious if anyone else had this problem.

anyone know if they sell the piaas at walmart? know where i can get the best price for them?

You haven't stripped off the coating, don't worry. Yes Anco wipers are usually POS. I used to use Rain-X, but then Wal-Mart didn't sell them anymore, so i went to Michelin. They worked nice, but streaked easily. So I just bought Rain-X ones again from Target, but for some reason they studder. So im gonna return them soon. But I think OEM is actually really good from what I've heard, you can go back to that, Rain-X, maybe try Michelin, or go to Jason Burtman's site and order them, about $45 FYI.

I also have had nothing but bad luck with anco wipers, they seem to work good for about a month then they start to streak. Ill prob go back to oem when I get a chance.

yeah i was gonna get new oem blades since they worked pretty well before i started using the crappy ancos. i wanted to use blades that were durable so after some research i decided to buy the piaa super silicones from tirerack.com for $48 shipped.

As of yet I have not had to replace my wiper blades as of yet - crazy huh?

I know on my old Honda Anco blades would last like a month and would just go bad. I went to my local oil change place and asked that they put in Bosch blades instead. They worked so much better.
