Windshield Removal

How can I remove the windshield from my project '97 Runner without special tools and damaging the any of the inside trim. This vehicle needs a new windshield anyway and it has a little rust that needs to be addressed and I don't want to pay someone to remove it and then comeback again to install it. I've watched videos where guys use all kinds of tools to remove a windshield but it looks like they may be damaging stuff. Thanks.

If you do, use the braided stuff.

The monofilament is too thick, and you’ll probably break the glass trying to get it under it.
