Windshield Replacement Question

Hi all. Long time no see.

My 2016 Trail has a big ol' crack around where my inspection sticker is (lower right corner is where they put them, here in Massachusetts).

It's simple enough to call up Safelite or some other company, BUT i know that mine has the heated base for de-icing.

Anyone wanna share if i should go with OEM at a dealer for it to get the heater?

Thanks in advance.

I had a rock hit my windshield with 40 miles on the ODO and I went with JNphillips Autoglass and they replaced the windshield with the exact OEM replacement. If you do this through insurance (which you should if you have 0 deductible on glass) , call the local dealer and make sure they order the rubber seals for the sides. My fist visit they forgot to order the part and I had to wait another week. My crack was over 20" so I was a bit nervous. It all worked out in the end. FYI, I'm in the Boston area. Good luck OP.

I've had three replacements in 5 years--Safelite did all three. I've had no problems with the Aftermarket glass with the wiper deicing elements.

Don't use SafeAuto glass (usually Fuyao) it has distortion along upper edge. They do good job mostly but parts are crap. I'd get OEM glass and have them put it in. Your choice is between price and quality. GL
