Windshield Washers

Lame subject... but I'm just wondering if anyone has ever cared enough to play with replacing the windshield washers on a 2nd gen? Mine shoot out in pretty much two straight streams. I know... if I use a pin I can clean out the sprayer. But I figured I'd replace them. And then I thought that the replacements might be about the same thinking back to those years. New spray nozzles seem to be better. And then I started wondering if something off a newer model would fit.

Figured I'd ask...

I've thought about, mine shoot in a stream too. They don't need to be cleaned, they've got plenty of pressure, they're just bored out and shoot straight. The way I see it I have two options - twist them sideways so you can make your truck pee on the guy next to you at the light with the loud stereo, or pop one of those little bad boys out and take it with you to the junkyard and find something off a newer model that'll fit about the same opening.

I'm thinking really hard about the first option, to be honest. Clean windshields are overrated.

A little off subject, but I was going to post a thread anyways... I've been wanting to replace them as they don't have enough pressure to keep the end of the blades on the window... Looked around and couldn't really find too much. Anyone know of a place that sells them? I have the 89 4Runner.

You can change the tension by bending the arm!
And just take the arms off the windshield and wire brush and repaint.
As for the pressure you can get a new wiper pump to brim the old shooters back to speed.

Now for the nozzles them self you can fit just about any nozzle in the space and they sell aftermarket glowing ones if you really want to be fancy.

Ok, thanks! Yeah I replaced the pump, but pretty much anything that glows I'm down for haha.
