Wiper motor need replacement?

It was the switch

Well,
I just finished removing and replacing the wiper switch.
It was definitely the switch giving me the trouble.
Unfortunately for me, the wiper switch I bought off ebay did not fit my 4runner.
Hopefully the seller will refund me but, hell, I only spent $15 shipped for it.

Thankfully after inspecting my original switch, it became apparent that all it needed was a good dose of contact cleaner. The four main contacts for the off/int/lo/hi positions on the stalk are exposed and were easily cleaned with a few shots of contact cleaner.

After reinstalling the original switch, my wipers park perfectly as they should. Should come in handy as we are expecting a bit of rain for the next few days here.

How do you pull the switch out? Im' having the same issue...

Reviving an old thread. Mine is having the same issue, read on Yotatech that it could be the linkage assembly which is about $200 new. I would guess mine is the switch as mentioned previously.

Any help on removing the switch would be appreciated.

I wish mine was only a switch.
My wipers free float.
I lift them from the windshield and they move freely.
Sorry to hack your thread, but any wiper experts still reading this?

A quick fix to isolate the potential problem of either the motor or the interior column switch: Turn on the wipers and tap on the motor with a screw driver handle. Sometimes, the relay gets stuck on that internal switch. When I tapped on the motor, they started working again. Ultimately, the motor will have to be repaired or replaced but, this might save you some trouble of disassembly of the wiper switch on the steering column. My 96 4R has 276K and the wiper blades started showing signs of slowing and not parking correctly until, they finally quit working.

couldnt find the specific issue i have in a thread so asking here. I have no intermittent wipers, the other 2 positions work, just nothing in the intermittent spot. Is the int wipers on a separate fuse (like my old Hondas) or could it be a stick issue?
