Wiring a Late Model OEM Toyota Radio

I was recently wondering how universal head units and antenna jacks were. I guess the answer is "not very"

Believe it or not, when I pulled the T1819 out of my 4Runner to install the NAV unit from a 2013 Corolla I was able to use the gps antenna from my 2004 Grand Cherokee.

Within Toyota, there is a good amount of universal parts. For example, the adapters mentioned above work with almost all newer stereos. The plugs in our factory harness (which go into the amp) actually fit into the newer stereos but there is missing functionality without additional adapters.

The one I picked up (part # above) is amber lighting and, although I find it more pleasing than the green, the mismatch of colors is irritating to me. My color scheme is complicated by an ashtray-mounted Ultraguage causing me to have green, blue, and amber all in the center of the dash.

This one? Might take it into consideration myself! Was looking for 2Din but 1.5 will work fine if need be
