I got my Jaos H4's today to mount on my center protector. I bolted them to the CP, but didn't get a chance to do the wiring. I have a question about the diagram. Most of it is straight forward, but they have you also tap the parking light line. What is the significance of this tap? For those that have done this install, do you tap the ENTIRE parking light light line, or just one of the wires. The instructions were not very clear. Thanks!

I think they want you to tap into it because that signals the relay to pass power to the lights when your driving lights are on. When its tapped in like that, then the Jaos lights only come on if the parking lights are on and the Jaos switch is on. I'm not sure if its a legallity issue or not. You have to tap into the "hot" wire of the parking light, if memory serves me correctly it was the green with white stripe. Easiest way to figure out is with a multimeter.
Thanks! That was exactly the help I was looking for. I tapped the green wire, and presto.... lights. I now understand the logic behind tapping that wire. The Jaos lights have a remote control rather than a hardwired switch. I adhered the remote to the inside of the sunglasses holder. I never use it for sunglasses (even though I live in San Diego), so it works as a nice hidden control pannel. Just flip the button for the sunglasses holder, and it drops down with the remote control now exposed.

Kewl thing with tapping the driving light is that your fog light is unable to drain your battery accidentally. Your 4Runner should turn the lights off after 30 seconds of leaving your truck and since its wired into your lights, the JAOS will go off too

I just took a spin around the block testing the lights. I need to aim them a tad higher, but overall it's not bad for trying to direct them without a clue of what kind of spread they would have. when the headlights go off, so do the Jaos lights. Very clever.
I'll have to post some pics tomorrow. I wasn't able to get any daytime shots of the lights because I was working on the install this evening, but I'll have some stuff ready to go for tomorrow. Currently, I also have the front end mask on. I gotta say, I have not seen any 4R's anything like mine locally. I don't think there is another person in SD with this setup. On the white, the front end mask works really well with the CP and the light. Now I just need to get one of the hitch mounted rear bumper steps to finish off the protection.
