This might be a strange one but I can seem to figure out the right way to accomplish this. I have 5 Rigid Radiance lights (have the backlighting feature). 4 pods (2 ditch 2 fogs) and 1 bar. Currently I have the LED main lighting wired the way I want them, its the backlighting that I have questions on. Each light has 3 wires coming out, red,black, and white. The white is the wire for the backlighting. Im assuming it grounds though the black which i already have grounded. What I have the white or backlighting positive wires connected to currently is the green wire on the windshield heater (5th gen) which only becomes hot with parking lights or headlights on, and it works great.
What I would like to add is a redundant switch that will activate these 5 white wires from the battery but still maintain the other "switch" that becomes active with parking/headlights. If I just tie into that wire going into the windshield heater switch wouldn't it then active the heater as well as the lights? I feel like a relay is the answer here but Im a bit confused on how to wire it all up.
