With fender trim or without?

I don't mind the look of them on your truck in particular. It gives the truck the OEM clean and stylish look. On the other hand, they are dirt and rust traps IMO and I would remove them solely for that reason. Mine came off the day after my 4Runner got home. My fenders are also holding up fine from chips and my tires/wheel setup isn't exactly the most "paint friendly."

Either way, I still love your truck.

As most of you know.... I'm a fan of chrome.... and it's toughness. It holds up better against road debris, and the wheel trim is no different. My rocker panels and lower doors are riddled with paint chips, which I have filled in with paint.... it those fender trim pieces weren't there... my fenders would look the same.

Ultimately, it's up to you (and your wife??). But I'd keep them on, until you can find a nice set of OEM Limited flares....

Haha, I was kidding about the wife comment. It seemed like it was split 50/50, so I wanted to say something sarcastic as the deciding vote.

Having looked at the truck from every angle now with that one off, I'm not sure I like it off. The chrome on the trim strips helps the bumpers flow together front to back. Most likely putting that one back on, and leaving them on until I switch to 33" M/Ts.
